       WELCOME TO MS. DAVIS' 8th grade ela classes!

Dear Student and Parents,                                               Apple.png

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to Lincoln Middle School – Home of the Proud Warriors.  The curriculum for English Language Arts is not only challenging, but also rewarding. Our travels will take us from parts of speech to reading books, comparing these books to media, and writing exciting stories.  Like all journeys, this one will require certain rules, procedures and supplies in order to survive the perils.  In order to provide the best learning environment possible, it is imperative that we all become a working family, and students and parents understand the rules as well as consequences.

Rules:  Respect teachers, fellow classmates & school property; proper dress code; be prepared to learn, listen and follow directions; work quietly and use appropriate voice for activities.

Consequences: (1) verbal warning; (2) conference with student; (3) contact parents;
(4) referral.

Supplies:  One - 70 page spiral notebook (college ruled); One pocket folder, loose leaf paper, pencils, red and black/blue pens, highlighters/markers, as well as a box of Kleenex and hand cleanser.

Students will receive very little homework; however, homework is given when work is not completed in class and when extra practice is necessary. I am available in my classroom  7:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. daily for assistance on any assignments.  Please check the Calendar for assignments and due dates.

If you have any questions, problems or ideas, please feel free to e-mail me at jndavis@episd.org.  However, the “Teams Parent Portal” at episd.org. provides students’ grades, assignments/due dates, as well as absentees/tardies.  Be sure you are registered so that you may have unlimited access to this information. If you would like to set up a conference, please call Lincoln Middle School at (915) 236-3400; conference "Tribe" time is Wednesdays 2:02-2:50 p.m.

Thank you for your attention, and I am looking forward to a successful and fun-filled year.
