Slusher, Pamela

Welcome to Slusher's 8th Grade Earth Science

Desert landscapeThis year science becomes very important because in May the 8th grade Science STAAR test is given (along with math, reading, and social studies). During the year students will review material that was learned in 6th and 7th grades. All material learned these three years is able to be tested on the 8th grade test. The content of the test is not known prior to the test being administered. Not only will the teaching of new material and the review of previously learned material be done, test taking strategies will have a major focus. I am committed in the students having success on the STAAR tests and test taking strategies being used will be of help to them.

I have been teaching science at Lincoln for eleven years after completing my alternative certification in science from UTEP. Previous teaching experience was at the college and junior college levels. I have earned my Master's Degree in education from UTEP.

I am available before school and after school most school days. I will also make myself available during lunch with prior arrangements.

I can be reached at Lincoln by phone at 915 236-3400.
